Perfume Sample Set Nepal: How to Test Shahi Aroma's Discovery Sets Before You Buy a Full Bottle
Perfume sample set Nepal guide: how to wear-test samples on skin, how long to wait, and how to weigh a Shahi Aroma Discovery Set against a bottle.

A perfume sample set Nepal buyers can trust is a pack of small portions of several blends, worn on your own skin before you pay for a full bottle. Shahi Aroma's Discovery Sets do this with our own compositions, blended and macerated in Pokhara. A full bottle bought blind costs Rs. 1,500 for 50ml at the low end and Rs. 5,800 for 100ml at the top of our range. A set exists so that a wrong guess costs you a vial, not a bottle.
This guide covers why testing on skin matters, how to do it properly, how many hours and days to give each scent, and how Pokhara's weather changes the result. It then shows how to work out whether a set is good value against a bottle, using our catalogue prices, and how to order or collect.
Perfume Sample Set Nepal: What a Discovery Set Is and Who It Suits
A Discovery Set is several Shahi Aroma blends in small sizes, packed together so you can live with each one before choosing. It suits three kinds of buyer. The first is someone buying their first serious perfume who does not yet know whether they like woods, florals or citrus. The second is someone choosing a gift who wants to check a scent on a person's skin, not on a card. The third is someone who owns a favourite and wants to see what else the house makes.
It does not suit someone who already knows the exact blend they want. In that case the perfume range is quicker, and a 50ml bottle is a smaller commitment than it sounds.
We do not print set contents or prices in this article. They are on the set's own page in the shop, and that is the figure to trust on the day you buy.
Why You Should Try Before You Buy a Full Bottle
A perfume changes after it leaves the bottle. What you smell from the nozzle or on a paper strip is mostly the top notes, which fade first. What you live with is the heart and the base, and those are shaped by your skin, your body heat and the weather.

That is why two people can wear the same blend and describe it differently. No guide can tell you what a perfume does on your skin. It can only tell you how to find out cheaply. For background on how the layers of a scent unfold, see our post on top, heart and base notes, or the general overview of fragrance notes on Wikipedia.
The cost of a wrong bottle is real. At our prices, a 50ml bottle is Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 2,900 depending on the blend. That is money you do not get back if the scent turns sharp or sweet on you by afternoon.
How to Wear-Test a Perfume Sample Properly
Start with clean, unscented skin. Wash with unscented soap, skip body lotion on the test spot, and do not test straight after a perfumed shower gel.

- Spray one scent per arm. Use the inner wrist or the inner elbow. Two scents on one arm blur into each other.
- Use one or two sprays. A test is about the scent, not about volume.
- Do not rub your wrists together. This is general perfumery advice, not a Shahi Aroma rule: rubbing is commonly advised against because it is said to dull the top notes.
- Do not sniff it immediately and decide. The first minute tells you the least.
- Write it down. A line in your phone at each checkpoint beats trusting your memory the next day.
For how many sprays suit your skin and the weather, read how many sprays is enough.
How Many Hours and Days to Give Each Sample
Judge a scent at three points, because the three layers arrive at different times.

- At 30 to 60 minutes: the top notes have settled and the heart is showing. Ask whether you still like it.
- At 4 to 8 hours: this is the drydown, the base notes that stay. It also tells you how well the scent lasts on you.
- Across 24 to 48 hours: wear it through a full day, including work, a meal and the walk home. Then notice whether you reach for it again the next morning.
Test one or two scents a day, each on a separate arm. More than that and your nose tires, and everything starts to smell the same. A set of several vials is a week's work, not an afternoon's. If a scent fades faster than you expected, our guide to making perfume last longer in humid weather covers what to change before you write it off.
Testing in Pokhara's Humidity, Heat and Winter Cold
Weather changes how a scent projects and how long it lasts. Monsoon humidity and Lakeside heat tend to make a perfume feel stronger and more diffuse. Cold winter air tends to mute it and keep it close to the skin. The general principle that skin and conditions affect how a perfume wears is covered in the overview of perfume.
So test in the season you will wear it. A fresh citrus that feels perfect in a hot afternoon may be too quiet in January, and a warm blend that feels right in December may feel heavy in July. We do not give per-blend longevity figures because they would be claims we cannot back across every skin and every month. Your own two-day test is the better evidence. The Shahi Aroma Discovery Sets: What Each Contains and Costs
The Discovery Sets are listed in the shop, each on its own page with the blends inside, the vial size, the number of vials and the price.

Where to read the contents
Open the set you are considering and note three things: how many vials it holds, how many millilitres each vial is, and which blends are inside. Those three numbers are all you need for the sum in the next section. If a page leaves any of them out, phone +977 9712023800 and ask before you pay.
How to pick a set
Choose a set whose blends differ from each other: one fresh, one warm, one floral, say. Three similar scents teach you less than three different ones. If you are unsure where to begin, our guide on how to choose a perfume that suits you narrows it down.
Discovery Set vs Buying a Bottle Blind: The Cost Worked Out
Do the sum yourself, and do it per millilitre. Divide the set price by the total millilitres in all its vials. Then compare that with the per-ml price of a bottle of the same blend.
Our bottle prices are fixed by tier and are the same per ml in both sizes. The working is simple: price divided by millilitres.
| Example blend | Bottle | Price | Working | Per ml |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sultan | 50ml | Rs. 1,500 | 1,500 ÷ 50 | Rs. 30 |
| Sultan | 100ml | Rs. 3,000 | 3,000 ÷ 100 | Rs. 30 |
| Herbal Fresh | 50ml | Rs. 2,100 | 2,100 ÷ 50 | Rs. 42 |
| Herbal Fresh | 100ml | Rs. 4,200 | 4,200 ÷ 100 | Rs. 42 |
| Wanted 2.0 | 50ml | Rs. 2,900 | 2,900 ÷ 50 | Rs. 58 |
| Wanted 2.0 | 100ml | Rs. 5,800 | 5,800 ÷ 100 | Rs. 58 |
These three are examples of our three price tiers, not a statement about what is in any set. A small vial will almost always cost more per ml than a bottle, as it does elsewhere: a 7.5 ml mini seen in search results was about Rs. 1,200, which is Rs. 160 per ml (1,200 ÷ 7.5). Gift and mini sets seen in those results ran roughly Rs. 1,050 to Rs. 4,660.
So a set is not cheaper per millilitre, and it is not meant to be. What you are buying is the right to be wrong. If the set costs less than one 50ml bottle of a blend you might dislike, and you find one scent you love, the test has paid for itself. For more per-ml context, see perfume price in Pokhara. We have not said whether a set price is credited against a later bottle. Ask on the phone number below.
